Signs of a miscarriage
Signs of a miscarriage can mostly be overlooked by many as some of them almost resemble the normal pregnancy symptoms.
When pregnant you must take enough caution and always be alert for any change of bodily activities from the normal.
The common signs of a miscarriage that can be experienced are;
Mild to severe back pain when you are pregnant can be one of the signs of a miscarriage. This is very common in most women and it usually occurs a few hours before the actual miscarriage occurs. However, some women can experience all through their pregnancy period and it will not signal a miscarriage. But, sudden sharp, intense pain in the lower back is a likely symptom of a miscarriage. This pain can be accompanied by bleeding in some cases and if this happens, try contacting your doctor, midwife or antenatal clinic immediately.
A sudden decrease in pregnancy signs
Some women can also experience a decrease in pregnancy signs. If this happens suddenly, there is a need to worry and contact the doctor as soon as possible. I will not discuss the pregnancy signs usually experienced by women here but you can get all of them in this article.
Painful contractions that are occurring every 5 – 20 minutes can be a sign of a miscarriage. Normal contractions cannot be severe and consistent. Some women who have encountered a miscarriage never remember these contractions due to the pain and emotional feelings associated with it. The victim becomes uncomfortable and loses concentration. At this point, a caregiver should help out in reaching out to the doctor or midwife.
White-pink mucus discharge
Vaginal discharge during pregnancy is usually normal. However, a white-pink mucus discharge can be a sign of a miscarriage. The discharge can also be blood-tinged but an increase in vaginal discharge should not be a sign to associate with a miscarriage as it is usually normal during pregnancy.
This sign of white-pink mucus discharge can sometimes bypass some ladies and this is why it is advisable always check your pant after removing it for any abnormal discharge when pregnant.
Cramping can also be a sign of a miscarriage although it’s also a sign of pregnancy and it is common in the early trimesters of pregnancy. However, cramping that is accompanied by spotting or other vaginal bleeding can be a sign of a miscarriage and should be taken seriously by seeking medical attention as early as possible.

Blood clot discharge from the vagina
Blood clots or spots are very common signs of a miscarriage. This is usually a red light for the possibility of the occurrence of a miscarriage and appropriate action should be taken. Blood spots can even occur before other symptoms show up and thus if the person is not very careful, she might not notice it.
Normal blood spots during pregnancy usually occur in the first trimester of pregnancy but if after that occurs then you witness again later, there is a need to become worried and take action by visiting a medical facility.
During pregnancy, every woman usually gains weight. If there is sudden weight loss after you have gained weight when pregnant, this can be a sign of a miscarriage coming sooner.
Weight loss during pregnancy should not be taken lightly as it can be a very serious problem in waiting.
